I had a head start in the race to become a Christian (a Christian is a follower of the person and teaching of Jesus Christ). I was born into a Christian family, BUT that did not make me a Christian, but I did get to know how too be a Christian. Also I was born at a time when Christianity was taught in school, when almost ALL children went to a Sunday school in the village or town, when going to church on Sunday was more NORMAL than it is today.
Having heard the message of Jesus dying for my wrongs (called sin) for me on a cross at Calvary, in Israel all those years ago. I accepted the truth of that message and I accepted Jesus Christ has my helper and friend. So most of my childhood, I was found in church three times every Sunday. I truly loved my church and Christian life, I cannot say I understood everything that I heard the preacher said, but I did my best to live a good life.
Sadly when I hit my teens, I found myself spending less time in Church and more time with my school and work friends at the local café, cinema etc. By the time I had reached 17, I had left the church all together and on top of that I left home to work in a hotel in Birmingham for the next 3-4 years. Here I went deeper into what this world had to offer, and less time with what my spiritual life had to offer. Yet in all that time I would at times go to Christian youth meetings at the town hall.
Things changed again in my life when I left the “big city lights” and returned home to my family. Again, I found myself in a Christian home, and I missed my family when they went to church and I stayed home, plus they where happy and I felt empty, which I had felt for the last five years. I had always felt life had more to offer then what I saw and sometimes tried.
I was now 20, and this time I truly knew for sure what I wanted, I wanted peace in my life and a purpose to live for, it was at this time of searching that I found Jesus Christ again. I became a true Christian. Made some great Christian friends of my own age, half the church I found where under 30, so I soon found the greatest friend of all, Jesus, and some of the best friends I had ever made. Funny thing about a true Christian church you always find friends.
Dear friend, do you know Jesus as your greatest friend in life? He wants to help you find the true meaning and purpose for YOUR LIFE. Why don’t you become His friend also? You can repeat this prayer:
Heavenly Father: I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of my sins. I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart that Jesus is Your Son, And that He died on the Cross at Calvary that I might be forgiven and have Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven. Father God, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now to come in to my life and be my personal Lord and Saviour. I repent of my sins and will worship you all the day's of my Life! Because your word is truth, I confess with my mouth that I am born again and cleansed by the Blood of Jesus! In Jesus name, Amen.
Friend, now live out that truth.
God bless
