Text: 1 CORINTHIANS 12:1-11.

THE THREE GIFTS OF INSPIRATION.

1ST GROUP OF NINE: TONGUES, INTERPRETATION, AND PROPHECY.

3. THE GIFT OF: PROPHECY. VERSE 10.
“To another, prophecy.”
It is the gift that makes the Body comes alive in God.

“He who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men” 1 Corinthians 14:3. Prophecy, then, is when God speaks through the prophet, to forth-tell, and to fore-tell, to edify and to build up the Body of the Church. Oh! The hard walk of those who prophecy into the Church, to wait upon God in deep prayer and concern, to walk a holy life, and an upright life.
For the prophets words are to be judged by all, 1 Corinthians 14:29 “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.” The prophet needs to wait upon his gift, for the Lord is not the author of confusion.
So be FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. Seek the Lord for the “gift of prophecy.”

CONCLUSION: OF THE GIFTS OF INSPIRATION.

How can I receive the Holy Spirit, and His gifts?
By waiting upon the Lord in prayer, and worship. By having faith to receive.
1. You need to be “born again;” you must belong to the Lord, Romans 8:9 “So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”
2. You need to “ask,” and believe that your prayer will be answered, Luke 11:8 “I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.”
3. You need to “surrender” to God, Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”
4. You need to be “willing to obey” the Spirit, Acts 5:32 “And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
5. You need to have “faith,” “hearing comes by faith.”
6. You need to “exercise” the gifts, Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
