Matthew (1st Book in the New Testament).

Author.
Matthew (Levi), one of Jesus' disciples.

Main point.
Jesus was definitely the Son of God, the Messiah, and the King of Kings.

Jesus, Mary, Joseph, John the Baptist, the disciples, the religious leaders, Caiaphas, Pilate, Mary Magdalene.

Special features.
Was written by one of Jesus' disciples to convince his fellow Jews that Jesus was the Messiah. Provides a wonderfully complete account of Jesus' birth, ministry, miracles, parables, and more. Draws deeply from the rich background of the Old Testament, referring often to the “Son of David.” Shows that Jesus is our King and Saviour.

How the Book got its name?
Gospel means “good news.” This book contains the good news about Jesus as recorded by Matthew.
