Back to Basic! A basic breakdown of the bible books!

Genesis (1st book in the Old Testament).

Main point.
God made the world and started a plan to save people from sin.

Adam, Eve, Noah, Abram (later named Abraham), Sarai (Sarah), Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob, Rachel, Joseph

Special features.
Tells the creation story not once, but twice. Describes how the first family got along, and did not get along, as sin creeps into the picture. Explains in detail how Noah built the ark and organized all those animals. Introduces a dreamer with a great-looking robe, whose life was a showcase for God's faithfulness

How the Book got its name.
The word genesis means “beginnings.” Here you will find the opening chapters of the story of the earth and its creatures, people, sin, different languages and nations, and of God's plan to make it all turn out OK.
